This is me

​In 1996, I embarked on my pastry journey, immersing myself in the dynamic world of food service immediately after graduating from Johnson & Wales University in RI. As time has passed, my love for baking remains as fervent as ever. Reflecting on the past, I'm amazed at how my journey has unfolded.

For the initial decade of my career, I was fortunate to collaborate with companies that entrusted me with the task of shaping their brands. Little did I realize then that this creative process was forging a unique path of its own. Embracing the role of a food developer has always been my calling, allowing me to showcase my creativity and expertise. I never settled for repetition; my heart lies in the art of creation.

The trust vested in me by a range of companies, including notable names like Wissie Cakes, Dancing Deer, Williams Sonoma, Keto and Co, Trader Joe's, and Delta Airlines, to bring their culinary visions to life in tangible products, is a responsibility I hold dear. Even today, I find joy in seeing products I crafted on shelves, their origin concealed from the world.

Across more than two decades, I've discovered my niche in aiding companies propelled by ambition and inspiration to attain their aspirations. At my core, I am a food developer, thriving within the artistic realm of baking. Challenges are my driving force, continuously igniting my passion, fueled further by the people I'm privileged to influence.

In light of this, I took the step of establishing Shelley Bakehouse – a channel for me to express my talents and offer them to those who appreciate them. It's my creative haven, a place where I can be unreservedly myself. With Shelley Bakehouse, my goal is to share my passion with anyone who's interested. I intend to maintain a focus on small-batch creations, each one distinct, evoking nostalgia and authenticity. I aim to be your indulgence on cheat days, not an everyday staple.

My adoration for what I do is matched only by my enthusiasm to share it with those willing to join the journey.
